Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Assists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in compliance with protocols, policies, and guidelines.
- Prepares patients for procedures, including allergy documentation; monitors patients' conditions during procedures, e.g. blood pressure and heart rate. Administers drugs and blood products under the orders and supervision of a physician.
- Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Educates patients and families on cardiac catheterization procedures and policies.
- Maintains and cleans cardiac equipment and upholds laboratory safety.
- Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
- Works in accordance with on-call and scheduling requirements for the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Team.
